IceSL is a combined 3D modeler and slicer for additive manufacturing developed by Inria. It offers a unique workflow that pairs procedural, Lua-based modeling with an integrated, high-quality slicing engine for FFF/FDM printers. You can design objects parametrically or import existing meshes, then fine-tune how they print using per-region settings such as variable layer height, adaptive infill, custom supports, and multi-material configurations. Real-time visualization and fast, GPU-accelerated previews help you iterate quickly. Built to support both research and practical making, IceSL enables precise control, reproducible designs, and efficient G-code generation in a single, streamlined tool.
